Technical Engagement Engineer

Location: Tampa, Florida


Seeking a Technical Engagement Engineer to provide technical support to the Solutions Integration and Security Operations teams as part of new client acquisition, onboarding, and expansion of services to existing client base.

Working as a member of the Solution Integration team the Technical Engagement Manager participates in customer onboarding activities in preparation for transition to Operations. This includes interacting with Security team members, end-user customers, vendors and industry partners to gather/validate technical requirements and deploy management tools, agents, collectors, etc., in preparation for the Security teams to configure and implement security solutions.

In addition to technical knowledge of networking and security this position calls for a high level of integrity, good judgment, knowledge concerning issues of privacy and confidentiality, excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to work as an independent, productive, responsible, self-motivated member of a team in high pressure situations while maintaining a calm, customer-friendly perspective.  The ability to collaborate with customers, vendors and business partners, and across the organization is highly important.  This position is best suited for a hands-on individual who has a technical background but also enjoys interacting with both customers and other technical resources.


  • Support pilots, proof of concepts and other related activities, as appropriate
  • Post-sales participate in customer scoping calls to validate requirements and gather necessary information to deploy and configure management/monitoring agents and Digital Hands support tools
  • Participate in on-going technical solutioning calls with customers, Security and Solution Integration teams as necessary, serving as a technical expert
  • Work in coordination with Security Engineers and Administrators to ensure customer appliances and services are properly setup and tested for turnover to Security Operations for configuration, deployment and tuning


  • Hands on experience in information security, ideally in multi-platform environments
  • Familiarity with information security best practices
  • Operating systems knowledge and systems administration skills for various versions of UNIX, LINUX, and Windows
  • Access Control Concepts, Methodologies, and Techniques
  • Solid understanding of  networking/connectivity across complex WAN environments
  • Experience in the evaluation of new technologies
  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving ability


  • Bachelor’s Degree in an IT or business related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Networking and  IT Security space, including designing, delivering, and/or supporting security solutions
  • Prior experience in a support/customer care role is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and delivering customer-facing presentations
  •  Working knowledge of security architecture design, implementation and administration
  • Experience in SaaS, PaaS, IaaS – Cloud Security
  • Broad knowledge of effective practices in protecting corporate data networks
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements (SOX, HIPAA, PII, PCI, etc.)
  • Familiarity with security standards (FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST, etc.)
  • Professional certifications from bodies such as CompTIA, GIAC and/or other information security certifications highly desired
  • General IT related certifications also desired
